RSI Bank contributes to Rahway Food For Friends

RSI Bank was pleased to recently make a donation of $10,000 to Rahway Food For Friends, a non-profit organization based in Rahway, New Jersey.
Rahway Food For Friends began as a community initiative in 1991 with a mission to feed the hungry. Today, Rahway Food For Friends’ soup kitchen serves weekly meals as well as annual holiday dinners to those who are hungry.
According to the organization’s website, Rahway Food For Friends has also developed several programs to serve specific needs. One of these programs is Rahway Food For Friends Diabetic,
Healthier Giving for Healthier Living, a program for clients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. Each client receives a staples package of healthy Diabetes friendly food. Seminars and one-on-one counseling sessions are also offered to develop a plan for individual needs.
The Mobile Pantry provides food to Veterans who are injured, disable, homeless, needy, and hungry. Clients receive a supplemental bag of food along with support via information, referrals for homeless shelters, social services, spiritual counseling, and veterans’ services. Emergency clothing and blankets are also provided.
The Diaper program is an initiative of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (Hillside) Diaper Bank. Diapers are disbursed to low income, homeless, needy families who meet the qualifications.
